This article in the magazine Jewelry Affaire makes me so happy because I made this necklace out of the material from which I made my wedding dress. Happy first anniversary, papa Christo!

What an honor to be published in Jewelry Affaire! I made the necklace on the left out of broken bracelets.

hidden galaxy!

I came across these photos I'd forgotten about since January! Christo tried out for the LA Galaxy soccer team, and Bodhi and I had lots of fun watching him and kicking soccer balls around. There was some fierce competition, but he held his own.

unplanned beauty

Sometimes, in a whirl of staging different photos of artwork for the different publications at Stampington & Co., I capture a beautiful photo that is both of the artwork I'm shooting and nothing about the artwork. This is a poetic way of saying that sometimes when I screw up, it yields interesting results. These are photos of one of Anne Bagley's paper dolls I photographed for the last issue of Art Doll Quarterly. The photos in the magazine looks nothing like these, though, rest assured!

On my lunch break at work (Stampington & Co.)...and I just checked in with my boys at home. They are still without power, which is a refreshing thing. Falling asleep last night in front of the fire with them was wonderful. I felt like the random flower tops I found while cleaning out the prop room yesterday at work needed to dance around like the flames were last night...especially after reading something my supervisor Jenny posted (http://jennydoh.typepad.com/crescendo/2009/03/passion.html and http://jennydoh.typepad.com/crescendo/2009/01/managing-the-speed-of-work.html) about me on her prolific blog.

This photo is from a past winter solstice, where Christo, Bodhi and I welcomed the sun and the shortest day of the year from Monarch Point in CA. In the distance is Saddleback Mountain.
